Education Beyond the Classroom
Chipatso is investing in brighter futures through education and opportunity. We support two college students with room and board, ensuring they have a strong foundation for success. Five high school boarding students receive full support, including school fees, clothing, shoes, snacks, supplies, and food during breaks.
Our largest group of students, 41 in total, attend Yankho Primary School, made possible by the generosity of educational sponsors. At Sinthana Nursery School, we’re nurturing 5 our youngest learners. Little Joseph, who is just two years old, receives support with clothing, shoes and diapers. By breaking barriers to education, we’re empowering the next generation to rise above poverty and build a better future.
At Chipatso, we go beyond traditional schooling:
• Tutoring & Field Trips: For students who need additional support and exposure to the outside world.
•Afterschool & Weekend Programs: Including English conversation, hiking club, art classes, ESL and movies.
•Technology Access: We provide laptops and smart phones for college students and replenish school supplies as needed.

Nourishing Bodies & Fueling Futures
At Chipatso, we believe that a healthy body is the foundation for a bright future. Our nutrition program ensures that every child receives the nourishment they need to learn, grow, and succeed.
Each day, we provide nutritious breakfasts and lunches to our students from our farm and local community, ensuring they are fueled for the day ahead. This vital support extends to over 60 children, many of whom would otherwise go without.
We also grow much of our own food on-site. Our half acre farm, nurtured by the expertise of our co-founder Kim Often, supplies fresh produce such as tomatoes, eggplant, onions, watermelon, pineapple, and more. We're excited to introduce a new chicken coop that will house over 300 chickens. Over 30 fruit trees are growing on-site, promising future harvests of mangoes, guavas, oranges, lemons, avocados and more.
Our goal is not just to feed children but to empower them with the strength and energy to build a better future, one meal at a time.

Housing Assistance
Chipatso is transforming lives by providing safe and stable housing for families in need. With four dedicated homes for single mothers, we are creating a refuge for some of the most vulnerable women and children living in extreme poverty. Currently, two of these homes are occupied, offering security and hope to nine children and their mothers. Beyond this, we’ve built a home for a family of seven in this rural village and replaced several leaking roofs, ensuring more families can live with dignity and safety. Our mission is not just about shelter, it’s about building brighter futures.
Job Creation
Chipatso is creating life-changing employment opportunities for single mothers, empowering them to build independent, stable futures. Currently, we provide jobs for six women, all of whom are raising their children on their own. Two of these mothers live on-site, ensuring a secure environment for their families. Our vision is to expand these opportunities, offering more women in vulnerable situations the chance to gain financial independence, stability and hope for a brighter future.
